Join us for a special afternoon as the North Bay Battalion take on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds during Indigenous Culture Day — a celebration of culture, resilience, and community through hockey.
Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens
This year’s event will include:
🪶 A ceremonial opening with drum and prayer
🏒 A special puck drop by June Commanda, a residential school survivor, and her grandchildren
🎶 O Canada sung by Nipissing First Nation students, with drumming from Nbisiing High School
🐻 Indigenous-designed jerseys featuring the bear — a symbol of protection and medicine
🌟 Recognition of Indigenous youth, leaders, and Elders
🎽 A post-game jersey auction supporting Indigenous youth programs
Transportation is available!
If you need a ride, you can sign up for the bus.
If you’re driving yourself, you can pick up your tickets at LCHC. (58 Semo Road, Garden Village ON)
Can’t make it to pick up tickets but still driving? The Recreation Activator will be delivering tickets this Thursday.
