Survey: Social Services Needs Assessment

Nipissing First Nation Social Services is growing! With the expansion of programs and services for our community, we are applying for funding for a new building in Garden Village and potentially a new building in Yellek. This will offer more space for Prevention and Band Rep services for families, children, and youth.

We invite NFN members and affiliates to complete this survey by June 8, 2023 to help us understand needs and experiences.

In respect of privacy, all responses are anonymous, and go directly to a third-party contractor to write a needs assessment report.

Prize Draw

NFN values your opinion and gives a choice to enter a draw when you complete the survey. The prize is a 17.7 gallon Yeti Tundra Cooler. Prize will be drawn on June 12, 2023 and announced on Nipissing First Nation Administration Facebook page.

Background

  • The Band Representative provides family and child support as well as advocacy to community members on and off reserve when Children’s Aid Society (CAS) or First Nation Child & Family Services is involved with a family.
  • Prevention programming provides children, youth, and families with programs in the community to enhance the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of NFN children and youth. This could include craft making, movie nights, socials, and baby groups.
  • Band Representative and Prevention programs are expanding with a new Post Majority Program for youth transitioning out of CAS care, Family Support to deliver voluntary services for families seeking prevention and parenting support, and pre-natal support with a newly developed role of Little Spirit Auntie.
