Round 2 of Pre-screening for Elders’ Lodges Now Open

Friday, January 10, 2025 – As a result of remaining available units, the second round of pre-screening applications for the new Nipissing First Nation Elders’ Lodges is now open.

During the first round of pre-screening applications (August – October 2024), only those applicants that met the eligibility criteria were considered for units in the new facilities.

Services offered for Elders’ Lodge residents include:

  • Preparation of meals (at the resident’s request)
  • Maintenance/cleaning of facility/resident room
  • 24/7 facility staffing (in case of emergency)
  • Possibility of supplementary care (assistance with taking medications, bathing, etc.) provided by personal support workers (PSWs)*

*Applicants needing supplementary care will undergo further evaluation to assess the feasibility of providing such care. The possibility of supplementary care will depend on PSW staff availability.

The purpose of the NFN Elders’ Lodges is to provide a community living environment for NFN Elders, promote socialization, and keep Elders in the community.

Those interested in applying for a resident room must carefully review the Resident Code of Conduct, complete the pre-screen application, and submit the application to:
