NFN apologizes for changes to garbage and recycling schedule

Tuesday, December 24, 2024 – We apologize for the recent confusion regarding changes to the garbage and recycling pick-up schedule during the holidays. We understand this caused inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

The intention behind these changes was to give some of our dedicated staff a few extra days off. That said, we would like to offer a special miigwech to the Public Works department, who continue to support our community during this season, including snow removal for seniors and residents.

Given this oversight and the increased demands of waste collection during the holidays, the garbage and recycling schedule will now be updated as follows:

  • Friday, December 27, 2024: Garbage and recycling for all NFN communities
  • Monday, December 30, 2024: Garbage and recycling for east-end communities (Christine Lane, Yellek, Serenity Lane, Art’s Lane, Little Lakes, Duchesnay)
  • Tuesday, December 31, 2024: Garbage and recycling for west-end communities (Garden Village, Veteran’s Lane, Jocko Point, Beaucage)

After the holidays, garbage and recycling will resume to the regular schedule. See the 2025 Garbage and Recycling Schedule for details.

Thank you again for your understanding, and we wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
