Thursday, May 1, 2025- Goods Exchange will occur Thursday, May 8 and Friday May 9, 2025. This is a great way to divert usable unwanted items from going to the landfill. Everyone is encouraged to take a look around and pick-up items that they can re-use.
All items left at the curbside after Sunday, May 11 will be picked up by the Public Works Department.
What should you place at the curbside for Goods Exchange?
- Furniture (chairs side tables)
- Clothing
- Books, DVDS, CDs
- Toys
- Sporting Goods, Fishing Rods
- Tools
- Small Appliances
- Doors, Windows
Regular Garbage Pick-Up will occur on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13 for household garbage.
Spring Clean-up will take place on:
Thursday, May 15 for the West End: Garden Village, VLA, Jocko Point, Beaucage (NFN members only)
Friday, May 16 for the East End: Christine Lane, Yellek, Art’s Lane and Duchesnay.
All items must be placed on the curbside no later than 7:30 a.m.
Remember to have your items sorts in piles as follows:
- Electronics (Tv’s radios, DVD player, cellphone
- Scrap Metals
- Tires (standard sized, no rims)
- Furniture
Items that will not be picked up:
- Construction material
- Freon Appliances (fridges, AC Units)
- HHW, used car oil, paint cans
- Mattresses
- Recyclable materials
- Organic Materials (leaves, brush)
Any of these items will be left behind and it will be the homeowner’s responsibility to bring to the landfill.
