March 15, 2025 – The Ministry of Natural Resources – North Bay District is warning residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement – Flood Outlook is in effect until Friday, March 21, 2025, at noon.
The statement is in place due to the potential for flooding. This means that heavy rain, snowmelt, and other conditions could lead to flooding in certain areas. We urge residents to stay alert, especially around lakes, rivers, and streams, and be cautious of dangerous conditions. Keep children and pets away from water, and stay informed as the weather changes.
Warm temperatures and rainfall are expected this weekend, particularly on Saturday and Sunday. Snow is melting, and rain will likely cause runoff, leading to rising water levels. This may impact low-lying or flood-prone areas, especially those prone to flooding. Ice on lakes and rivers will also become unstable.
Residents in low-lying or flood-prone areas should closely monitor conditions and prepare for possible flooding.
