This special event will explore the four aspects of well-being—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—through engaging activities and sessions designed to support a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Enjoy a variety of offerings throughout the day, including:
• Mini language session
• Herbal teas
• Healthy aging information table
• Healthy traditional lunch
• Medicine bag workshop

Greetings! My nishnaabe name is “Keeper of the Language” but I also go by Falcon McLeod. I’m of the crane clan and a NFN band member. I’ve been teaching for almost 9 years and I teach all over. Currently I am teaching Ojibwe at NNDSB and also in collaboration with KEB. I split my time between several high schools in the area and teach province wide via online teaching. I also teach Ojibwe part-time at Nipissing University.

As part of Emergency Preparedness Week (May 3–9, 2026), NFN Members and Affiliates are invited to join us for an evening of food, learning, and community connection.

Come out to the Nipissing First Nation Emergency Services Information Session BBQ to learn more about Emergency Management and Response and how we can all be better prepared for emergencies that may impact our community.

BBQ will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. — enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs while connecting with community members and Emergency Services staff.

Information Session:
Following the meal, there will be a discussion on:

  • Types of emergencies our community may face
  • How Emergency Services respond
  • What community members should know and do during an emergency

This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn important safety information, and help strengthen our community’s preparedness.
