In 2025, several improvements were completed at Miskwaabik (Beaucage Park) to help restore, enhance, and activate the space for community use. These upgrades included a new dock and boat launch, a concrete walkway, a pavilion, picnic tables, firepits, landscaping, accessibility enhancements, and the installation of a security camera. Work also began on the Miskwaabik Language Trail, which will highlight local plants, medicines, and animals, paired with Nishnaabemwin translations and cultural teachings. Together, these improvements reflect an ongoing commitment to creating a more welcoming, functional, and culturally meaningful space for Nipissing First Nation members.
We now invite community members to share their thoughts, comments, and ideas through a survey to help guide the next steps for Miskwaabik. Your feedback will play an important role in shaping future efforts and enhancements.
As a thank you, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.
The winner will be selected during a livestream draw on Wednesday, April 8, on NFN’s Facebook page.
