One Water Project

The One Water Project was an Indigenous‑led partnership between Indigenous communities in Mexico and Canada. The project focused on supporting Indigenous communities by using rainwater harvesting—collecting and storing rain from rooftops—as a simple, sustainable way to improve access to water.

The first system was installed at Nbisiing Secondary School in August 2024, where it supported the school garden and served as a model for future systems.

This project showed the power of collaboration and community-to-community learning—check out the YouTube video to see the project in action!
