Friday, January 10, 2025 – NFN is seeking local volunteer baby cuddlers.
What is a Baby Cuddler?
Baby cuddlers provide gentle, loving, and soothing support to infants in a hospital or care facility. Volunteers hold, rock, and comfort babies who need extra attention to help them feel safe, loved, and secure during withdrawal. Your calming presence can make a world of difference as these babies begin their journey toward healing.
What You’ll Do:
- Cuddle and comfort the infants in a hospital setting.
- Provide emotional and physical support for newborns undergoing withdrawal.
- Work under the guidance of medical staff to ensure the babies’ safety and well-being.
Requirements*
- Be a registered Nipissing First Nation member, aged 18 or older
- Clearances:
- Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) background check/clearance
- Vulnerable sector check
- Child welfare check
- Must have your own transportation (NFN will reimburse mileage and parking)
