Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted in Duchesnay

January 17, 2023 – The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory issued for Duchesnay is now lifted.

We continue to collect and test water samples through the community to monitor the water and ensure the water continues to be safe to drink.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

January 13, 2023 – A precautionary Boil Water Advisory is issued for Duchesnay. This excludes the Daycare / Community Building and Nbisiing Secondary School

Please be advised that due to the recent events that have been occurring within the water system in the area, Nipissing First Nation is issuing a PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER ADVISORY.  This advisory will be in effect until further notice.  When the advisory is lifted another notice will be distributed to the community. Recent repairs have improved conditions and to help in the remedial plans to correct the situation, extensive testing will continue to ensure the quality of the water.

During boil water advisories or boil water orders, you should boil all water used for drinking, preparing food, beverages, ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth. Severely immunocompromised individuals should always boil their tap water for the purposes noted above. Infant formulas should be prepared using boiled tap water, at all times.

Water should be placed in a heat-resistant container or in an electric kettle without an automatic shut-off and brought to a rolling boil for 1 minute to kill all disease-causing organisms. Water can also be boiled in a microwave oven using a microwave-safe container.

We thank for your assistance and patience, during this time.  Please contact Patrick Stevens at (705) 753-2050 ext. 1220 Cell (705) 498-2519 or Steve Doucette at 705-840-2636 if you require any additional information. Our responsibility is ensuring the best quality of water to our membership and to ensure that all membership is well advised of the condition of the water supply.
